Dr. John Case retired as the Senior Minister of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, a fast-growing church of over 4700 members. A part of the secret of growth was the involvement and assimilation of people in meaningful ministries. Worship services were exciting, positive and Christ-centered.
Dr. Case graduated from Central High School in Jackson in 1954, where he played basketball and baseball and was an All-State third baseman. He has continued his interest in athletics. He received a B.A. Degree from Millsaps College in 1959; a B.D. Degree from Candler School of Theology in 1961; and honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Wesley Biblical Seminary and Asbury College in 1987.
Dr. Case served five United Methodist churches in Mississippi and each church was awarded the "Church of the Year" award under his leadership.
He is married to the former Ellen McClung of Vicksburg, Mississippi and they have three children: Mark, Renee and Paul.
