The Reverend Harry Wood was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 17, 1940. Rev. Wood is married to Ruth and has two children, Harry Lee III and Robin, as well as two granddaughters, Catherine and Hannah.

Rev. Wood attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1962 and a Bachelor of Divinity in 1965. He then began his ministry as Associate Pastor of First Methodist Church Decatur, Georgia. From 1967-1978 he served as pastor of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church in Fresno, California and Wesley United Methodist Church in Palo Alto, California. He is currently serving as pastor of Visalia United Methodist Church in Visalia, California.

Rev. Harry Wood has served on Mill Creek Hospital’s Community Advisory Board and chaired Cooperacion for the California-Nevada United Methodist Mission for Bolivia. Rev. Wood is a past chairman of Evangelical Renewal Fellowship in the California-Nevada Conference and serves on the Ethics Committee of Kaweah Delta Health Care District. He is also a member of the Visalia Rotary Club and was named "Man of the Year" by Visalia Chamber of Commerce in 1997. Rev. Wood helped form a city-wide anti-gang task force, Pro Youth Visalia, in 1995 and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Rev. Wood is an alternate delegate for the 2000 General Conference of the United Methodist Church and is a delegate to the Western Jurisdictional Conference.
