Larry is presently the Cornerstone District Superintendent in the Western New York Conference, serving on Bishop Marcus Matthews cabinet. The district office is in Jamestown, New York. The district takes in all of Chautauqua County, part of Cattaraugus, and a small portion of Erie County. Before serving as District Superintendent, Larry served in four western New York appointments: Wyoming and Covington, East Bloomfield and Ionia, Westfield, and Clarence.
He was ordained Deacon in 1972 and Elder in 1976. He received his B.A. from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1971, and the M.Div. from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in 1974.
During his over thirty years in ministry, he has served as registrar for the Board of Ordained Ministry, director of continuing effectiveness, chair of the conference church growth and evangelism committee, and as chair of the conference committee on camps and conferences. Within the general church, he currently serves on the General Board of Discipleship, Curriculum Review Committee, New Church Starts, and Ethnic Minority Local Church Committee. He is also a member of the Northeast Jurisdiction Episcopacy Committee.
He is married to Brenda Kephart Baird. They have two adult sons.
