Mickey Ellis is currently a member of Mission Bend United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas, the church she has loved and attended for the past 23 years.

She has been involved in implementing and coordinating various ministries within the local church such as the Prayer Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Care Ministry. She has also served as MYF coordinator and counselor, Celebration Women’s Ministry vice-president, Purpose Driven Life campaign director, building relocation coordinator, lay representative at the Texas Annual Conference and SPRC chairperson.

She currently serves Mission Bend United Methodist Church as Care Ministry Coordinator, small group facilitator, high school Sunday school teacher, Prayer Ministry team member, leadership team member, and church CanCare representative.

Outside of church, Mickey has served on the board of directors of Families for
Early Autism Treatment (FEAT), as treasurer for the Star Chapter of the National
Charity League, and as a member of the Special Education Task Force in the
Katy Independent School District. She currently offers support to breast cancer
patients as a volunteer for CanCare.

Mickey attended Del Mar Junior College in Corpus Christi, Texas where she received top honors and graduated first in her class. She went on to work as a secretary and administrative assistant at Amoco Production Company where she met her husband, Mike Ellis, of 26 years. For a short time she worked as a Realtor in west Houston before becoming a stay-at-home mom to Chrissy and John, now teenagers.

Mickey has a great love for the Lord and for His church and enthusiastically shares her testimony with anyone who will listen. For enjoyment, she runs, writes, and is learning how to draw.
