Mary Daffin is currently an attorney and partner at Barrett, Burke, Wilson, Castle, Daffin & Frappier, and Adjunct Professor of Law, Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.  She is also a former Assistant United States Attorney, United States Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, 1978-82.

 

She graduated from Alabama State University and earned her Juris Doctorat from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, 1975.

 

Mary Daffin is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits; and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Western and Eastern District of Texas.

 

She is an author/speaker for south Texas College of Law, Bankruptcy, Course on Fundamentals, and for the State Dar of Texas Professional Development Program, Advanced Consumer Bankruptcy Law Course and Advanced Creditors’ rights seminar, and speaker for the U.S> Foreclosure Network National Default Servicing Seminar and Roundtable, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights.

 

Her church membership is at First United Methodist Church of Houston, where she is the Chair of Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, member of the Administrative Board, and past member of the Board of Trustees.  She and her husband, M. Samuel Daffin, Sr., attorney at law, have two children; Pamela D. Daffin-Cormier, RN at Texas Children’s Hospital and M. Samuel Daffin II, student.
