Thank you for a thoughful article on the issue. Term bishops would probably help effectiveness within the entire umc.

The biggest problem I see with our Bishops is that they seem to be more concerned about presenting a united collegial front instead of recognizing the need to lead and defend the Discipline of the UMC. In so doing they betray their vows, their calling and continue to be the biggest single problem in the UMC.

The main problem is the statement by Dr. Case; The corporate leadership is unwilling or unable to recognize the seriousness of this problem and (relate it to the people of the pew.)
Transparency is a must and the Church must have a vision of the future on we will perish. It seems from the current data, Methodist are perishing every week. We must return to our roots and to God.

The cultural decline in America will not be reversed until the UMC and their traditional protestant churches experience a renewal.
