Prayer Alert Team:

In addition to praying the monthly Prayer Calendar, members of the Prayer Alert Team respond to individual and urgent needs for prayer. We handle prayer requests confidentially, and the team members serve anonymously. The following four points apply to Prayer Requests and our Team:

  • Requests for prayers will be included for two weeks. They will then be removed unless re-requested.
  • Please listen to the Holy Spirit as you write your requests. We must all respect confidentiality
  • We will pray at least daily. We will be responsive to the Holy Spirit's prompting in prayer
  • Please share how you have seen God answer prayers. It will be an encouragement to the prayer warriors.

As God is willing, I will get Prayer Alerts out weekly unless there is a timely reason to get one right out to the team. The weekly ones are in three parts:

  1. Current Prayer Alert Requests
  2. A portion of the Prayer Calendar for that week
  3. Answers to prayer

God asks us to pray to Him. Why should He ask us to pray in order for Him to act? I recently came upon this reason in Scripture.
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." [John 15:15,16(NIV)]

I remember, many years ago, sawing boards for my father. He would measure and mark and then I took the handsaw and sawed them off! I do remember, now, that his hand was wrapped around mine, and his strong arm supplied the power, and his other hand covering my other hand holding the board would protect me should the saw jump out of the cut - but such was his love for me that he asked me to help, even though he could have done it better. I was helping my father! My Dad and I were buddies! I felt so GOOD as he told Mom that I was helping him. My Dad appreciated me!

Your Father has chosen you and has asked you to help him as a friend to do His work. Don't worry that you can't do it well, for He will bless your effort. Take joy that He has asked.

If the Spirit is speaking with your spirit and calling you to pray with us, will you join?

Thank you for your constancy in prayer.

May God richly bless you this week so that you may bless others.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Be not anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends an understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." [Philippians 4:4-7]
